MET Asia, MET Group's Singa­pore-based re­gional busi­ness fo­cused on de­vel­op­ing LNG and broader en­ergy activ­it­ies across Asia-Pa­ci­fic, has an­nounced the ap­point­ment of Es­ther Ang as Chief Ex­ec­ut­ive Of­ficer, ef­fect­ive 1 Novem­ber 2026.

Europe’s en­ergy sec­tor is too frag­men­ted to com­pete ef­fect­ively on the global stage, while in the Un­ited States, Ch­ina, and the Middle East a hand­ful of ma­jor en­ergy com­pan­ies have the scale and in­ter­na­tional pres­ence needed to suc­ceed in global en­ergy mar­kets. This was the view ex­pressed by Huibert Vi­geveno, CEO of MET Group, at the Port­fo­lio En­ergy In­vest­ment Forum 2026 con­fer­ence.

MET Sales and Trad­ing, the trad­ing, whole­sale and sales seg­ment of Swiss-based en­ergy com­pany MET Group, ac­quired a ma­jor­ity stake in Zephiros En­ergy Trad­ing S.A. The ac­quis­i­tion marks an­other step in MET Group’s long-term growth strategy, open­ing new op­por­tun­it­ies across the Greek en­ergy sec­tor, par­tic­u­larly in the rap­idly de­vel­op­ing re­new­able en­ergy and bat­tery en­ergy stor­age seg­ments.
